Am I alone in despairing about the quality of castings available from some
suppliers?

I won't mention names but the two ME suppliers nearest to me one produces castings that are clean and crisp, the other is willing to pass on bits of tatty metal that look like the patterns were chewed by a dog.

I have had some castings made from my own patterns, and after some good advice the patterns are getting a bit better too! But it is so hard to get hold of a foundry that will produce castings, at any price.

I have a half-finished pattern for a tractor bell-casing at 4" scale; does anyone know where I could get this cast for a reasonable price? I really need to get advice on the pattern and core before I go any further.

Cheers

Neil
