I am a complete novice to model engineering i have aquired a drummond admiralty 3.5 lathe plus i believe to be a small patrics lathe 3 inch centre hieght and several other workshop items .
I have been given a part built model four stroke engine the gent who gave it to me said he started it about 30 years ago but he has lost the plan he said it was a vega v twin four stroke 9 cc believed to be by d parker i would therefore appreciate any info or possibly a plan for above engine the gent has now retired from his buisness he also kindly gave me a selection of various metals to get me started in the hobby

113 forum posts | Richard, the drawings and articles for the Vega Twin are in the following Model Engineer. Part 1, 3 Jan. 1986, Vol 156, No 3768. Part 2, 7 Feb. 1986 Vol 156 No 3770. Part 3. 7 March. 1986 Vol 156 No 3772. Part 4. 4 April. 1986 Vol 156 No 3774. Part 5. 2 May. 1986 Vol 156 No 3776. Part 6. 6 June. 1086 Vol 156 No 3778. I have copies of these articles in JPEG form, plus line drawings of the plans in Adobe format. There is a problem, I dont know how I can attach these in replies to postings, because if it was me, I would do it. But, does it infringe copywrite and will it annoy some readers or protocol. The solution to the above problem could be solved if Dave Clark included these articles in the Model Making section, or some friends or other forum members over there in England may have the relevant issues in their library. As a last resort I could email or surface mail them to you, But again, putting your private details on a web site is generaly frowned upon so I leave it you to decide. Some of the photos of the finished Vega look fantastic. GO FOR IT. |

It might infringe the authors copyright.
Who wrote it?

17 forum posts | There was an article on David Parker in ME 4255.
I don't know where the drawings for the Vega were published, it might have been Engineering in Miniature.

17 forum posts | Another update. The engine was serialised in M E in even numbered issues 3768 to 3778 according to the computer index.
I don't know if the drawings were in the Myhobby store plans list, but could not see them.

![]() 10 forum posts | I doubt if sending scanned images to one person is a breach of copyright that anyone can actually deal with. Making them available on a website would certainly be though. |

A photocopy of an article for personal use is OK.
It is classed as reasonable educational use I think.
Plans are available from MyHobbyStore but they are not listed on the web site.
I will see if I can get them added.
