Meddings bench drill ( coventry)

8 forum posts 1 photos | Hi folks, new to group , im a tinkerer & l9ve restoration of old machines , done a few progress & fobco piller & bench drills so far , I'm in the process of restoring a meddings bench drill the switch gear was none standard but managed to find the correct one now , ( single & three ph) but I'm struggling to find the switch lever , Its 3/16th square fitting , I'm not sure how to upload pic on here, but any help would be much appreciated |

1186 forum posts 11 photos | Does the switch lever look like this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185694535429 A common switch on those drills was made by Santon, so search for 'santon switch'. The shape of the lever in the one above is called a 'chicken head knob' so that might be a useful search term. Smaller versions were used on old guitar amplifiers. |
