Hi Michael welcome to the forum. Where in the country do you live. It helps when offering help especialy if you are local. Do you have any machinery to help with making parts. Perhaps you may offer help with instruments etc.

Welcome to the Forum.

Lots of advice an help always available on her, on all sorts of subjects.

As DG1 says

Where are you located?

What equipment do you have?

How conversant are you with it? (i.e. Newbie or experienced?)

If you can find a Model engineering Club, within a sensible distance, join it. You will find like minded folk there, who can give face to face advice and help, if you need it

Hi Michael,

From another retired Instrument Technician. You will find this site a brilliant forum for all things model engineering. We all have experience that can help others. Do not be afraid to ask the most obvious questions.......I do all the time.

Hi All,

Many thanks for kind welcome to the forum.

I live in Gloucestershire near Cheltenham. I have a small workshop with a lathe and milling machine etc.

I am also a member of the local model engineering society where I go and play on a regular basis.

Hi Michael I am at present putting together a Scamp - petrol/electric driven in my case but there is a battery option where a battery box replaces the petrol engine and dynamo. No machine tools required!

The sheet metal and other parts are available from CMD Engineering and the Scamp Locomotive group on Facebook is popular and informative.
