First post and not a terribly interesting one I am afraid, but having posted one wanted and two for sale ads in the classified section I am scratching my head as to why the images I posted are showing at 90 degrees as if they were in landscape format? I am sure its me being a luddite that is the reason for this, but a pointer as to how I can correct this would be most helpful.

Hold the phone or tablet in landscape format with button on your right when taking the photo.

Because your camera is not rotating the image to the direction you see, it's only changing the metadata which goes with the image. Sloppy, lazy programming.

Open the photo in something like Paint, rotate it clockwise then rotate it anti clockwise. Then save it. It will write the metadata to suit the way the image is displayed on the screen.

Note, if you're afflicted with a mackintosh device, you'll have to find a similar, but different solution.
