Janita Plano Grinder

Photos of the Janita plano grinder for which I need the pulley sorted as in below post. If anyone has any more details of this machine I would be very pleased to get the details. Very heavy machine and the table is of massive construction. Machine is used for grinding cylinder heads / engine blocks or manifolds.

Now that looks a useful bit of kit !!

It doesn’t answer your question, but I would suggest this might be an ideal opportunity to convert it to Poly-V pulleys.

Thanks for that. There is a mention in Caxtons Modern Motor Engineer vol.2. (Books around the 60's)

If it needed a new grinding wheel at some time I have no idea where you would get one. I would guess that you would have to send the complete wheel away to have it re-done.

I did pay more than the quoted list price above !!

There was one at the welding school at Northampton College where I got My arc and TIG NVQs in 2016-2020. Useful bit of kit for cleaning up an edge or face. If the wheel wears out, it is possible to get a new wheel built up on the old one.

I couldn't find this in my copy of this work; can you give a page number?

Your grinder, where the work is taken to the tool, reminds me of a handheld tool employing a similar principle whose name, however, I can't recall.
