![]() 1078 forum posts | Lots of Aero engineers (serving and retired) on this site so you are in similar company. My Model engineering society is a short distance from you (Westbury in Wiltshire) but you have a Model Engineering Society in Bristol who I'm sure would be very friendly for face to face help. https://www.bristolmodelengineers.co.uk/

I started out machining industrial sewing machine parts to very tight limits including 4 10ths of a thou measured over 4 components. Largest components I machined were 4 metres long aerospace parts for the Airbus wing holding fixture for the Supper Guppy. I think they held two wings at a time for an airbus. Great fun. |

The best way to contact us is through our website, as Jon Lewis's reply, but you could send me a PM. I live within five of miles from you. JA |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | Welcome Steve! You can take the man out of Engineering, but you can't take the Engineering out of the man! Also ex R-R but at Oil Engine Division at Sentinel Works n Shrewsbury. And we are by no means the only ex R-R men in model engineering. Have never visited, but The Bristol club used to run a show at Thornbury, so quite an active outfit, I would imagine. Many a good tune played on a an old fiddle. I have a friend who produces far better work than I can on a round bed Drummond. (It is probably over a hundred years old now! ) Howard
