![]() 1181 forum posts 669 photos | Hello all, Back into Workshop at last. Ref: Joe Piezynski youtube video showing internal threading away from Headstock. Anyone know where to buy a similar tool please, as I need to thread a number of parts from an internal shoulder. I could of course use the VFD Jog feature, but have never done internal threading like this before. Any advise appreciated. Regards, Geoff

A simpler home shop tool can be made similar to a boring bar with an inserted piece of HSS or carbide ground to suit. If the the cutter part is put in at an angle it can go close in to a shoulder. I think I have seen a YouTube video of someone making one. Search for SNL0013M16 online Martin C Edited to add the designation Edited By Martin Connelly on 08/02/2022 08:28:33 |

Made to work with the lathe running in reverse and the carriage traveling Left to Right — away from the chuck thus cuts a RH thread from a shoulder or blind hole with an undercut. John |

No wonder the rest of us are confused. |
