Hello Drew and welcome. I'm afraid that I cannot help with your Sieg but I'm sure that someone on here will be able to help.

I'm about 20 miles South of you near Mansfield.

Welcome to the Forum

There will be at quite a few others on here who can help you.

What were you doing when it failed?

Not trying to take 2 mm cuts with a high feed rate, I hope! It is a small 400 watt brushless DC hobby lathe, not a three phase 10 hp 21" industrial monster.

Starting from a totally simple base

1 ) Is the fuse in the plug intact? (Assumes that power is available at the socket )

IF NO, replace

2 ) Is the fuse on the machine intact? If NO, replace. If you have produced a fault on the board, it may blow again., and then you are in deeper trouble.

3 ) Does the motor run? If Yes then the problem is mechanical in the drive line, (belt or gears )

If NO, THEN you start investigating the board and the motor., and need specialist advice.

There is a Model Engineering Society in Sheffield. Look it up on Google, and join. You will find it useful when you have your lathe up and running again. You will learn a lot, just by talking to and listening to the other members.

That sounds rather terminal!

Sounds like you need to talk to Ketan about a replacement board!

Take a look on the Arc Euro website for prices and availability.

I know nothing of these tiny lathes but would it not be better to upgrade to at least 240v motor or even a 3phase with a VFD...?

no idea if that s the correct term.....

small motors and electronics........grrrrrr....

arn't they always in trouble this DC stuff.........?
