Some time ago I introduced myself and stated that I would post some photos. Then the dilemma which photo.

Well how about the the beginning when I set up the last w/shop and looked around for a project to keep me

occupied until machines were up and running. Quite an interesting project which kept me occupied for a few

weeks.

Looks similar to a 'Facit' that I used to use many years ago. cant read the name from the photo. I can recommend GIMP for photo editing, free and works in Windows, Linux etc.

Your 2nd photo has ended up on a separate thread. I'll include the cropped version. Perhaps one of the Mods will join the threads. (There are now 3 threads to join/edit)

Not sure it's possible to merge threads so I've deleted the other two on the grounds this one says what's needed. Apologies if anything important got zapped.

Impressive machine. I've dallied with the idea of making an Enigma machine but it's much more work than I have time or enthusiasm for.

SOD: Bletchley used to offer a kit for a fully working, electronic, version of the Enigma. Don't know if it's still available.

Looks to be in quite good nick Alan. They can be a real pain to strip, clean & reassemble. Mostly pressed steel parts assembled by hand.

In my album there are photos of part of my collection which we drag around the country showing them off at steam fairs etc.

SOD. An Enigma machine is basically a typewriter that swops letters in a seemingly random way ( depends on which set of wheels are fitted) and not a mechanical calculator. We are forever putting people right when they pass by and shout "Ooh look typewriters" even though we have a sign saying "Mechanical Calculators"
