3 forum posts 5 photos | Hi folks, I'm a D&T teacher who has just started teaching a BTEC Engineering course and I might be looking for help/advice etc! Handy with the spanners and happy to try anything, but not with the sort of precise, apprenticeship that some might have had. Thanks in advance for any reading/help/advice you might do/offer. |

3293 forum posts 112 photos | Greetings John! We look forwards to progress reports! Certainly was sunny today - I quite enjoyed being playing grockle on this T-shirt weather afternoon by walking along the sea-front and harbour of my own town (Weymouth). Before burrowing into the depths of my workshop to continue fitting a gearbox to my elderly Myford lathe. |

86 forum posts 4 photos | Hello Jon I'm in south Dorset and a retired Technology teacher. It's good to see that engineering is appearing on the curriculum after years of national curriculum D&T, that effectively destroyed the subject. As the well known acronym for GCSE D&T went - Glue Guns Can Solve Everything. Fortunately there were many teachers of Technology who tried hard to keep the subject meaningful and inspiring. If you need any advice then please message me. Paul |

![]() 1494 forum posts 403 photos | Hello Jon Hope you will find help/advice here as and when you seek it. Wife and I spent many happy years exploring around your beat while based in our static caravan at Bowleaze Cove. If I lived down there though your most beautiful part of the UK would easily be to much of a distraction for me and the workshop would have to take second place Rik |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | WELCOME! You will find lots of advice and help, on here. If possible, find a local Model Engineering Club and join. You will see the work of others and can ask questions about how ikt was made. You'll soon pick things up. Learn the basics first of all, and then start studying the more complicated procedures. But remember that different folk will have different ways of dealing with a problem, depending on their experience, skill and the equipment available. Howard |
