Hello from East Anglia

Hello from the East Coast.

I've recently almost finished a restoration of a Meddings Drill 1971, LF1 MK2. The plan is to use this to restore other tools, including a lathe when I can find one locally at a reasonable price and then a milling machine.

I'm also planning to build a small 3D printer, currently only to print a Meddings badge for the front of my drill. Then I'll use the 3D printer to print parts for a CNC router of some sort.

Should keep me busy!

Hi welcome to the forum. I hope you find a lathe & mill that will suit your needs. Many posts on the forum of the ins & outs of various makes etc if you do a search.

Whereabouts on the coast? There is at least one poster on here from the Norfolk coast.

If you are not already a member, there are M E Clubs, in Norwich, Ipswich, North Norfolk (based in Holt, I think ) and Kings Lynn, for starters. Well worth joining when conditions allow.

Socialising with and learning from like minded enthusiasts will be some of the benefits.

Peterborough is possibly too far, although we have had members from as far afield as Boston.
