![]() 1860 forum posts 121 photos | Ive just made some oilers for my Corliss model from brass and plexiglass. I bonded them together using loctite 272 but they came apart. Next I will try araldite but will it withstand being in constant contact with oil? thanks

![]() 1655 forum posts 617 photos | In a word fizzy - yes I used the plastic tube protectors from small cutters for some and others were made using the clear protectors off artists paint brushes which can be 'gin clear'. I use the non fogging super glue or epoxy - either has stood the test of time Tug |

With hardener it will dissolve the surface so act like a solvent glue as used by plumbers. Probably rough brass (or even thread it?). We used it for ‘welding together’ radioactive sources, back 50 years ago. They were not expected to leak.🙂 Edited By not done it yet on 07/02/2021 22:25:36 |
