Imperial Chart

117 forum posts 32 photos | I've been looking on line for a chart which gives data to enable one to cut an imperial thread using wires to check pitch dia. Whether it could be downloaded would be another question. There are charts for Amercan and metric, but I have failed to find any for imperial. There are plenty giving general thread data, but not one for wires. Any chance someone can help me on this one? Regards Lynne .. |

For specific thread measurements, drill blanks (available from the likes of Zoro Tools) make serviceable measuring wires. If you did not know already, ArcEuro sell a set of wires. The 'special sauce' words to go into Google are "whitworth three wire thread measurement". |

82 forum posts 44 photos | If anyone wants a home brewed excel spreadsheet that will do the calculations for you (in imperial - but it could be modified to do metric as well, PM me an email address and I'll mail you a copy. I've used it many times as I don't have charts for 55deg threads and its served me well so far. I run it on my phone, so it's to hand when I need it. Rob |
