I've had an enquiry about David Noble from someone who has been trying to contact him via the usual details. Does anyone know if he is about and accepting orders?

I did have an e mail conversation with him in May, after some GWR drain cocks, he appears to have stopped making things, guess he is retiring.

Are you saying I have a double?

Hi David, you may indeed have a double. In fact some places will sell you the whole bottle.... smiley

But I think the David Noble Neil's party is trying to contact was the one who used to supply / collaborate with Doug Hewson for lost wax castings and fittings. I understand Doug's son is now helping to operate, or operating, Doug's steam locomotive business interests as "The Steam Workshop". Doug or his son may be able to fill in the details about the status of Mr Noble of detail castings fame (unless in fact that is our David in post above)

This is what is says on his web site -

As from 31st January 2017, I will not be accepting orders for the new construction of any products except water gauges. These will still be available for the forseeable future, as of course, will any other products which happen to be left in stock. I hope that more time will enable me to finish some projects, so that limited runs of new wagon kits may appear over time.

I would like to gratefully thank my customers for their support and patience over the years, and if the product range is taken over, details will be posted here.

Hello Jeff,

No, sorry that's not me. If we meet up sometime though, I will stand you that double

Dave Noble is around and active. I don't think he has a connection with The Steam Workshop, nor am I aware does Doug's son. Dave has cut out all his previous, extensive manufacture of engine and wagon parts, but last I spoke to him he was continuing with the water gauges. He did supply several retailers, try Blackgates first.

Thanks Folks,

We're aware David decided just to focus on water gauges, it's just that he's proving a bit difficult to contact at the moment.
