Very good, I can think of a few variations too, for £2.50 and a few bits of scrap, oops sorry useful stuff you can't complain. I will keep an eye out at the usual bargain stores for similar. Thanks for the tip.

All we need now are the nay sayers to chip in and say how 'dangerous' this would be! I am sure some will be along soon!

Paul.

Well, I'm a yea sayer, having done this for quite a while, and my picador drill sharpener runs against the diamond disc. NB: "sharpening" NOT recutting.

That is kind of like a simplified version of the American Glendo machine. My father bought one nearly forty years ago, since inherited by myself. The Glendo machine has an adjustable angle on the table, and the table slides sideways. The diamond wheel turns fairly slowly and is kept wet with a bit of water containing a little detergent. The wheels come in three different diamond grit sizes, 300, 600, and 1800. After the last one has been used the tool has a mirror finish. They can be used for HSS as well.

How long before the crocodile clips touch, but the idea is great.

Another yea sayer here. I've had a suitable motor sitting on the shelf waiting for just something like this. A trip to see the tool man on Chesterfield flea market next Thursday should supply the lapping disc, he does lots of toolzone stuff.
