Hi Chaps

Would anyone (or several of you) care to guestimate the value of a part built 7 1/4" DART loco. Rolling chassis, commercial boiler, some work needed on valves, pipework, boiler fittings. Cab and tanks not done. Comes with laser cut platework. Has been track tested (towed behind another loco). Product of a sadly deceased friend's workshop so I need a ballpark selling range really in order to find a good home for it.

I would welcome helpfull comments with open arms.

regards Martin

Perhaps Fizzy will have some idea about a boiler value, Chassis sepends on complexity, and finish but around £1k. You can see high prices asked, but as with overpriced lathes they don't necessarily sell.

Yes, I'm really just looking for a straw poll of a ball park range to start me off.

Martin,

Apologies because it doesn't answer your question, but there's a Bridget in 7.25" on eBay at the moment with a current bid of 3999.00.

Hope this helps.

Regards Tom

You should be able to get a new price from a manufacturer for that boiler , that will give you clue of how much the whole package is worth.

A new commercial boiler (I presume it is copper?) is going to be at least £5K and probably more so the whole lot has to be worth at least that.
