I have managed to find a Kennedy Hacksaw but it seems to be missing the cover over the Drive Pulley and Motor, Does anyone know where I might get one or is it a case of fabricating one, Any dimensions / Drawings would be appreciated.

These machines haven't been made for many many years so a source of spares is unlikely.

You'll have to make one. Here's a simple version I made last weekend; single bolt mounting underneath is ok. 160 weight oil ( like treacle) works well in the dashpot; much better than engine or axle oil, which is far too thin.20200721_165138.jpg

Which Kennedy, there are two, 60 or 90.

Johns is a 60.

Engine oil will work if the dashpot has all the components intact.

Half a turn clockwise opens the valve to allow the blade to drop more quickly. In other words it gets the blade quickly down to the workpiece , then turn it back to reinstate full damping. With 160 weight oil, the fully damped downward movement is very slow, so the valve speeds things up.

The button will release the arm, yours looks intact, though my 90 is different.

With the arm full up the pivoting rod catches on a step, your 60 looks to have a clamp on it which may need adjusting.

The jaw on mine is also not connected to the thread.
