Newbie from Shropshire

Hello all, been lurking for a while, so I thought I'd take the plunge and come and join you chaps (and chapesses!) I hope to be able to make a few contributions here maybe, and members permitting...learn a bit too! There looks to be a wealth of knowledge here!!

I am currently looking at buying my first lathe, but really restricted for space. So, looking at a Chester DB8? which seems to tick all the boxes? Initially a Warco WM180 was on the cards, but after comparing the spec, the Chester seems to be a smidgeon bigger....and with a little more power....

Really looking forward to making a start, and hopefully get involved soon.

Hi Folks,

Altough I had "joined" some years ago, I had never taken the plunge to register my interest by placing "Posts".

I live near Newport, Shropshire, so feel a bit out in the blackwoods.

For several years I was resoring some WWII aircraft, have a useful range of machinery.

I am now looking to dispose of surplus tools and materials.

I have been in engineering most of my life - 16 years as an engineering instructor.

I have been a regular reader of MEW - and contributor.

Hope this will "pass" as an introduction.
