![]() 6956 forum posts 229 photos | Having an engraved scale points to higher quality but what larger quality machine would want a vertical slide when they would also have a milling machine. I think you might look at surface grinder and tool grinder accessories. |

3630 forum posts 128 photos | +1 for Harrison. Dial style is right for L series and V groove is pretty much diagnostic. I'm not aware of any other makes done that way. There was one in the kit for the Harrison we had in the local section workshop at RARDE which 46 year old memory says looked like that. But I never used it or got familiar with it. Just a lump at the back of the cupboard. Google search turns up pictures. Clive |

In defence of Myford double-swivel vertical slide I'd point out mine is secured in each plane by 2 M8 studs and bolts where yours has one. I've used mine a lot over 20 years, and within the limits of its capacity it's hard to fault its rigidity. |

In defence of Myford double-swivel vertical slide I'd point out mine is secured in each plane by 2 M8 studs and bolts where yours has one. I've used mine a lot over 20 years, and within the limits of its capacity it's hard to fault its rigidity. |
