![]() 618 forum posts 122 photos | Welcome Richard! Lots of good advice here, and some not so good, but if you've been in the game for 25 years I'm sure you will sort the wheat from the chaff. Orkney is one of our favourite places, we had planned another visit this year! |

25 forum posts 6 photos | Thanks for the replies, I might have owned the Cromwell for 25 years but only actually used it a few times to make nylon bushes. Whatever project I start with it will be a steep learning curve as I have not worked to such fine tolerances that will be needed, it will be a challenge along with sourcing materials at reasonable delivery costs, which can be very expensive at times to where we live. ![]() 2312 forum posts 112 photos | Hello Richard and welcome to this most useful forum. I'm not sure what to suggest for a project but workshop items are always good. Books by Harold Hall are a good start, lots of projects so you can pick and choose suitable ones to start with and you end up with something useful as well as learning at the same time. Brian |

25 forum posts 6 photos | Thank you, I’ve just ordered a couple of HH books, Tool and Cutter sharpening and one about Milling. I do have a book on making small workshop tools so may start with that, as you say learning and hopefully ending up with something useful. Richard |
