1817 forum posts 2 photos | I thought I would subscribe to MEW and take advantage of a 3 for a pound offer which is on the website right now. So I phoned the number in the advert, after waiting a few minutes the phone was answered and I stated what I wanted. "What is the offer code", I was asked, "as far as I can see, there isn't one shown in the advert I replied"." Well if there isn't a code shown, then I can't do anything was the reply". Okay, I will order on the internet. Oh and by the way, can I order a back number, number 292? No I can't do that, but I can give you the phone number for back issues, which the lady did. I then entered the website referred to in the add and no, Mr Google couldn't find it. Blow the special offer, I will hit the big Blue Button under the 3 for 1 advert. It says "Subscribe Now". Would you believe it, Error 404? Repeated several times with the same result! Oh hell! I will print out the advert and fill in the details by hand and post it off. After some fiddling I got a print out of the advert, problem, the definition was very poor and I had difficulty in reading it. At this point I felt very dispirited and gave up. Surely there is a better way to promote MEW subscriptions without all the hassle! Regards, Andrew. Edited By Andrew Tinsley on 20/04/2020 11:27:37 |

For normal subs and back issues, log onto the forum and look at the top black bar, where there are links for subscribe and back issues. Bill

1817 forum posts 2 photos | Thanks Bill, I shall do as you suggest. I did try https//.then as shown in the add, but that didn't work either. I feel a little more robust having had an early lunch. So I will return to the fray! Not moaning about the problem, just got a touch downbeat about fighting the system! Thanks again, Andrew. |

I fear some people are leaving the code number off the end. Neil |

1817 forum posts 2 photos | Thanks Neil, That was what I tried to use, without any joy. It certainly isn't any use trying the phone number given in the advert. The poor lady on the end of the phone wanted a "code number" and hadn't heard of the 3 for 1 offer. A bit surprised at the 404 error message when I pressed the subscribe now button. I have tried again and things seem to work this time. Andrew. |
