1719 forum posts 1 photos | Has anyone seen any of the Formula-1 Virtual GPs such as this. This is absolutely mind-numbing to me - I had no idea the simulations were this good these days. Especially when, as i understand it, the drivers are all sitting in their own homes, not at some central location. |

23 forum posts | And a commercial game, not a bespoke sim by one of the teams. (published by Codemasters for anyone who was into computing in the 80's) With a fairly expensive wheel and pedal setup, but it really is impressive. |

1719 forum posts 1 photos | They (F1.com) ran a Chinese GP simulation today with thje following driver lineup: Mercedes: Stoffel Vandoorne and Esteban Gutierrez I didn't watch this live (it would have cost me money). It'll be on youtube in due course. There's talk of the leading drivers (Hamilton, Vettel, Verstappen) etc joining in which will be interesting to see if the the sim reflects driver/car performance on a live track. |

71 forum posts | Bandersnatch, it was live on YouTube for free.Sorealistic it could pass for the real thing. I can see why all the teams don't link up their factory simulators in real time and run a full race . The green lobby would have a field day.

I hope that never happens! Results would all end up depending on who has the biggest computer, the best Coders, the smartest hackers, the smallest Willy..The Car and driver become irrelevant..No more testosterone, smells.... Why don't we just speed up evolution a little, and Engineer that the next-born all have an optical fibre connection, in the neck, or maybe the navel - just plug into Life_Virtual, with a Soylent Green intravenous feed. Social distancing by default... Perhaps we could all live our dreams, and 'buy' the vitual mill/lathe we dream of, and make virtual models to surpass even Jason's miracles! Mmm, lockdown must be getting to me..
