Denford Novamill

Hi Folks,

Just wondering if an old Denford Novamill (not used much) runs on Windows 95 would be any use to someone. It has been sitting idle for about 4 years. Thought you guys would know.

I can recommend the Novamill though may be worth updating the electronics. Though small, very rigid and mechanically excellent. If I didn't have one already I'd be very interested!

Welcome Mike, what sort of machining floats your boat?

I have been very happy with the operation of my old Dell Inspiron laptop driving my Stepperhead lathe via DOS and TurboCNC. It operarates on WIN 98 converted to DOS and can perform many operations, threading, profiling, dividing, etc. I do not see why it this system is not used further on converted lathes. It is simple and an inexpensive conversion method for a more electronic operated lathe.

Pre - recent retirement and following an engineering career, I provided apprentice training and assessment for a few years in the engineering workshops of local ( Bucks) industry, any and all exposure to 'making things' in school is to be applauded in preparation for considering these career options.

I am well aware how hard it is to produce 'interesting student projects' particularly for groups of learners and as an example the most popular with learners was the -desk holder for the mobile phone. The holder could be in a variety of materials and production methods. (Not actually a V block but required similar skills.)

Like others I would be interested in the mill and pay a fair price, collection is no problem.
