3 forum posts 1 photos | Hello Folks My primary interest is in vintage car motorsport and I have a 1935 Riley 'special' that is on the road used in anger occasionally in VSCC (vintage sports car club) events. My reason for being here on the forum is that I enjoy fabricating parts for the Riley, usually in brass which i then 'age' to look like they were made in the 1930's. A couple of years back I bought a vintage Drummond round bed lathe which has been restored to 'working' and is being used for machining more things than i ever considered i would want to machine. BUT... I am not a machinist and there are many things i dont know the right way of doing, but reading the forum contents over the last few months - it is clear that there are many educated people here who can probably help me. Thank you in advance to those people |

![]() 2312 forum posts 112 photos | Hello Chris and welcome from a former Austin 7 owner. I'm interested in what your Riley is based on as I used to help someone with a Riley Ascot with the 1.5 ltr twin overhead cam engine. It would help if we had a rough idea of where you are based as the may be people local to you who would be willing to help. Brian |

3 forum posts 1 photos | Hi Brian, It was originally a 1935 4 door saloon called a Falcon. When I bought the car it had been used for spares for 35 years so wasnt really a 'car' anymore and most of the bodywork had been removed over time so I had a new coachbuilt body made. Its the same 1.5 litre twin cam engine tho. I will look into how to post images on the forum and put up a picture I am based in Surrey, United Kingdom Thanks |
