Israel join the race to the moon

Gentlemen,

Was anybody else aware that on the 22nd of February this year SpaceX launched a rocket to put three objects into space, two were Satellites and the third was a lander built by Israel which after six weeks would attempt to land on the moon, relatively this was done on a shoe string and the craft made it all the way and was in the process of landing when a computer glitch caused the engine to switch off, the Israeli engineers managed to get it fired up again but sadly it didnt slow enough and crashed on the moons surface **LINK** .

Another lump of space trash on the lunar surface, not content with cluttering up our own planet we're off on a five year mission to explore strange new worlds, to find new landfill sites and boldly dump where no man has dumped before

With two months gone since that was news, you really must get out of that workshop more

It was a program this week on National Geographic that brought it to my attention, I'm always interest in rocket launches and space but missed this completely

I was going to mention that the race to the moon was won (allegedly) many years ago by those awfully nice American chappies.

So Israel looks to be coming in a solid fourth after USA, Russia and China.

I must have missed them as well then
