![]() 618 forum posts 122 photos | I've been following this site on and off for a while, especially recently as I've just bought small mill after reading as much as I could here! I would have liked a Bridgeport or similar but simply don't have the space unfortunately so looked around at the usual far East suppliers. Yesterday I went and purchased a SEIG SX4 from Axminster. They currently only have a few ex-showroom models so a significant discount was agreed and it should arrive in the next week or so. My background is in heavy engineering I did a technical apprenticeship back in the early 70's and spent some years in the general machine shops before moving about into detailing and design, ending up as a service project manager before retiring a few of years ago. Other bits and bobs of note in the garage are a Myford Super 7, a Portamig welder, a compressor that needs a bit of TLC and a 12T press. My workshop interests are varied and I like to make things for my use and my other hobbies, I'm currently refurbishing a Rover V8 engine for my TR7. I have never attended a hobby/model show and hope to do so this year. Thanks for having me, I look forward to learning, or should I say relearning, from you folks and hope to be able to contribute a little too... |
