I've been reading on this forum about he advantages of spiral taps. Looking on eBay, I see that they are available in "red ring" and "yellow ring" varietys.

What's the difference?

Cheers

Steve

The colour signify the material groups that the tap is specifically designed for. Yellow is general purpose, red hardened and high tensile steel. Though the YG-1 taps tend to use black for general purpose.
