469 forum posts 50 photos | I wonder if there are many out there who have looked at lightning maps.org? It's a real time display of lightning strikes across Europe and the USA. I find it fascinating, especially when a storm is in my area. My question is, what is the time ticking down on the top left of the screen? One is the time since the last strike, but to its left is another countdown going on with no explanation as to what it means. I can't find a reference to it on the site. Does anyone have any idea please? regards Maurice |

I've been tempted to make a sferic detector for years. Blitzortung.org is a network of volunteers with detectors who 'power' lightningmaps.org. There's also a Blitzortung android app. Neil Edited By Neil Wyatt on 14/07/2018 19:43:55 |

Signed up in July 2014, where there were approx 1500 people on the list. Now I am at no.35, the list has grown to 4500. |
