In ME 4584 there is an advert for an auction that includes a number of restored Lister engines.

Does anyone know the going price of a restored Lister engine.

The common ones like a D are quite cheap, less than some sets of model castings couple of hundred should get you one ready to show.

Eric,

I collect and restore Lister engines, as Jason says D's are cheap but prices are rising, for me to get you a good idea I would need the spec no and serial no as engines which have spec 11 to 13/14 can fetch in good order upwards of £200 to £300 pounds, un restored runners, spec no 20 and upwards £50 to £100 each. you then get type A, B F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R and X if its an X the price will go off the scale as very rare, there is only a known couple in the UK. All the other types can go between £200 and £1500 - £2000 depending on condition.

I've just come in for a cup of tea, I've spent the morning stripping a H type ready to repair and show at rallys this year.

Can you copy advert as I dont get ME.

I have several copies of Stationary Engine magazine from late last year and a Lister D in running condition seems to go for £150 - £160 on wheels.

Neil,

A set of four cast iron wheels can easily fetch £50 to £60 and are usually reflected in the engine price, SEM for sale prices are also usually on the high side. Depending on who wants it Auctions can raise the price. I have 10 lister D's and depending on what spec they were I've paid £50 for a runner and £200 for a Hamworthy pump set being driven by a D on a cast base.

Blimey! I thought £150 was cheap!

My Suffolk lawnmower engine on a sled must be worth at least £5. But that's £5 more than I paid for it...

Depending on what model Suffolk engine they are starting to increase in price.
