Anyone shed light on this?

This is a picture of it.

It could be either a primer powder for firearms or ceramic material.

Propellants are bought as powders, but not primers, unless you're talking makeup

I assume a lump of Sintox ceramic, rather than anything to do with ammunition.

Did they make model IC engines? Material for spark plugs or magnetos etc??

I googled sintox and found that it has something to do with either lasers ( reflector or diffuser ) or bullet proof body armour . The material looks to be of similar composition to the stuff tig gas nozzles are made of .

The images i found of the body armour looked very similar to the one you have shown .

Have you tried measuring it ? I wonder how accurately made it is .

I reckon it's a manufacturer's sample. peak4's link takes you to the website of Morgan Advanced Materials. They sell exotics. I rather like the idea using them. How about a Model Engineer project requiring parts to be made of Pyrolytic Boron Nitride and coated with Diamond Like Carbon.

Steel, Brass and Aluminium are so prêt-à-porter . ME fashionista's should never use such dreadful tat in quality workshop Haute Couture...

Have a look HERE, there are a number of grades of Sintox, besides lasers and body armour. hence my query about the original owners engineering interests.

This is more unknown items, I know one is a reamer but not sure on the use if it with the extra on the end. And one is a knurling tool, but what it fits, can anyone help?

The serrated disc are out of a grinding wheel dressing tool. ??

Come to mention it, yes there are a lot of grinding wheels in the box so would make sense. I have only ever seen them attached to handle.

The item on the top left looks like a blank that goes in a 4 jaw cutter block for a woodwork spindle moulder or moulding machine . I had several. The knives were serrated backed. If I only put 2 knives in the cutter block there would be nothing to put in the 2 spare spaces so the clamps would fall out. therefore, one would put a piece of serrated steel in the space & clamp it tight. For a 65 wide * 100 diam block it would be ( from memory) about 25mm * 65mm * 8 mm Th the ends & edge that goes into the block would be square. The edge that goes flush with the block would be slightly rounded.

Sometimes the piece would be shaped rather like the cutter form but set back a bit. This was to stop the cutter digging into the wood too deep & causing an accident. On a moulding machine we did not bother but on a spindle moulder we would use them

The item on the right looks like a broken Tap Remover, probably a three flute.

The reamer could possibly be the special tool for reaming rear radius arm bushes on a Mini - the 'extra' bit on the end would locate in the needle-roller bearing. This is just a wild guess, by the way

the item on the right is a broken tap remover they do three and four the one under star dresser is old dye block has the reamer split in it and two look like part off roller box capstan or ward lathe regards norm

Top left looks to me like a tangential thread cutting piece from a Landis head ,top right tap removal tool , centre next to reamer appears to be a knurling tool . Pass on other items .
