1487 forum posts 582 photos | What is the difference between CCGT 060202 and CCGT 060204 ? Can either be used for machining brass, bronze, aluminium and silver steel ? Are they the equal in size and shape so that they will fit in the same holder ? NOTE : I thought I had asked this question before but I could not find it using the search box.

1468 forum posts 3 photos | The last two numbers designate the radius 02 = 0.2mm 04 = 0.4 mm . Other than that they are the same and will fit the same holder , i don't see an issue with machining the materials you listed . http://www.mitsubishicarbide.com/en/technical_information/tec_turning_tools/tec_turning_insert/tec_turning_guide/tec_turning_identification There are dozens of carbide insert charts on the internet and i know that kyocera and sandvik both have apps you can put on your phone or ipad etc . I have broken a few inserts but you have to do something pretty brutal to damage them. I buy the very cheap ones and they perform perfectly on my slow running L5, so much so that I now use nothing else. |
