Not receiving emails via Outlook/Hotmail this PM

2147 forum posts 222 photos | FYI I've been having trouble with email today - just received this from MS Support...(<5 minutes after asking for help - not bad for a free service!) Title: Can't connect to Outlook.com {C} User Impact: Users located in Europe may be unable to send or receive email messages. {C} More info: Additionally, users may be unable to access their outlook.com email accounts. Users may also observe that sent emails remain in the Drafts folder. {C} Current status: We've identified that a subset of load-balancing infrastructure may be experiencing increased CPU utilization, which does not appear to correlate with increases in user traffic. We're continuing to investigate to determine the source of the issue and to identify service recovery steps. Start time: Monday, September 18, 2017, at 7:20 AM UTC Regards, IanT |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | In my part of east Anglia, I can receive E mails from Hotmail addresses, and sometimes send to them. Was OK for a time yesterday, but not this evening! (Delivery Failure messages for lots) Wonder do i need to resend or will the backlog clear once the ISPs have got their act together? Howard. |

1297 forum posts 50 photos | Howard My Hotmail/Outlook is now back up to date, and the known missing emails have turned up, some of them more than 24 hours after they were sent. |

2147 forum posts 222 photos | I wasn't getting "delivery failure" messages as such Howard - nothing at all was arriving, although emails seemed to be sending OK. Then for a while yesterday evening, anything "sent" appeared in the 'draft' folder but didn't actually go - initially with a message "There has been a delay in sending" - then after a few minutes - "There has been a unexpected error"... However, overnight, this seems to have resolved itself and all my test messages and other stuff I was expecting turned up in my inbox this morning. It still seems Ok this evening but I haven't checked in depth... Regards, IanT |
