Went to Astle park engine rally today (In Cheshire under the shadow of Jodrel Bank) So took a camera. Have also shot some 'shakey video' wink which I will upload tomorrow.

Lots of steamy chuffy things, Static engines etc, along with classic cars and motorbikes. (did not get round them)

Very good event but parts of it are quite commercial as they have to be these days so that the sums add up otherwise the event would be a none starter financially. Lots of stalls selling everything from bric-a-brac to keep the ladies happy to junk (new) tools. There was also a fun fair for the ankle snappers.

I will start with a self portrait.

LOL! You've swapped photobucket for our image server!

Great set of pics, Nick.

Sitting on that handwheel looks potentially hazardous...

LOL .......... Never used Photobucket. laugh

Yes hazards. The place was full of them. But with this being held in a rural area HSE inspectors are stopped at the gates, chopped up and spread onto the fields with the slurry.

I also saw some very disturbing things in the form of children wearing overalls covered and coal dust and oil. surprise Then horror of horrors some of the children were actually driving engines.!!! wink

I also went today and met Diane Carney who was driving Hugh Winterbottom's Sentinel steam lorry. Nice weather and dry underfoot. Just amazed at the number of people with dogs thought I was at Crufts at one point.
