![]() 5068 forum posts 3 photos | Lathes.co.uk give credit to Ted Barrs as the designer of the ML7 during the closing stages of WWll but the design is so innovative in looks as style and nothing like the Atlas 10"that Tony refers to that I feel that it was the most definitive design of the latter half of the 20th century. But who was Ted Barrs? I have odd original drawings from 1947 but his name doesn't appear to feature in any of them. |

** Ted Barrs served his engineering apprenticeship during the 1920s, completing it alongside his best pal, Bill Day, who went on to found The North London Saw Works, at Waltham Cross - a business still running today (2014).
