19 forum posts 1 photos | Hi, I have a current project that requires me to bore out some holes to just less than 12mm. I can do it on the lathe but I would also like to have a boring head for use with my Warco VMC mill. I would like to buy a boring head and some cutting tools that will kind of future proof my purchase. Anybody any advice as to what size head I should buy? If I buy say a 62mm head does this prevent me from boring small holes or if I buy say a 30mm does this prevent me from boring large holes? |

Just think about it, buying a 2" boring head, max you could you with that would be about 3" without losing rigidity....even thats pushing it...but then it depends on the design... |

189 forum posts 30 photos | I bought an Arrand boring head a few years ago on a 2MT taper to suit my little chinese mill, I suspect it is a 2" head but it doesn't say. It is beautifully made, works faultlessly, and I have to admit I have been known to just get it out and look at it! Confirmed member of toolaholics anonymous. |
