If you have single phase motor problems then look to replacing it with a 3 phase motor and Inverter [ VFD ] you will never look back. |

![]() 3676 forum posts 82 photos | I had to have a central heating pump rewound because I could not shift the nuts on the base, 24" stillsons with an old fork stanchion would not shift them and as it was a bit cold without heating a 24hr rewind seemed worth it but a bit pricey compared to a new pump. I think the boiler was over 25 years old when it got replaced so two pumps in 25 years didn't seem bad. SEW eurodrive sell stators as a spare part and do not recommend rewinding especially in applications where two motors are working as a pair, they reckon a rewound motor is 5-10% different from a factory part. For a Myford a new motor is not expensive and as John says a good opportunity to go for the inverter option unless your motor is 3 phase already. Mike Edited By Mike Poole on 31/03/2017 21:55:32 |

2878 forum posts 248 photos | Back in the 70s, I re-wound several single phase motors, I still use a couple of them 40 years later. But I am not so sure that I would want to do them now as the skin on my knuckles has worn a bit thin. |
