hi does anyone have a spare ( or one that could be copied ) copy of Alan marshals book "building the burrel showmans traction engine thetford town" isbn0954475836 and 9780954475833 two volumes, I have just inherited Dads part finished beast, i believe alan also did it on disc. I have tried all the usual and e mailed the author from his web site all to no avail, thanks in advance. Mike

I have been looking for the last 8 months with no luck if you get any luck I would also be interested, I keep looking if I have any luck I will inform you I was told that there is a disc with all info on Derek

Just a quick update on 10 Jan 16 I inhearted a 55% part built Thetford Town but there were many faults I spent to much time trying to put things right that it was put into a box in the corner of the workshop were it is today not long after at a model exhibition I was told about Alan Mitchell's book so started my search I have a mate who is a second hand book dealer he tried and tried all over the world with some 300 dealers he found one in China but its printed in mandarin the soft back isbn number is different so we keep looking but today I might have a lead

dont know... But I think it may also be wise for someone with appropriate knowledge, and PC that is suitably protected, to try it first.

I only ever saw the build on his website and very good it was too, pity he took it off there but at least there is a hope that someone has the DVD now that his site is not available, the Waggon he was documenting was to a similar hight standard as the showmans.

Hi All The postman has just arrived with a parcel of two books on Thetford Town Showmans engine after many months looking my search has come to a end thanks to all who helped

Hi John as you have read I purchased a part built thetford town and after spending hours checking on all secondhand book sellers looking for the book with no luck but I put an advert in a website called traction talk a gentleman in Manchester had them and I purchased them for £30

A few months later I sold the model and books to a gentleman in Canada
