Latest Forum Posts box

Am I the only person who finds the Latest Forum Posts Box too small?

Looking at it now, at 13.08, there are 10 threads listed with the earliest at 12.09. I do not look at the forum hourly so to get a good idea what is happening I have to look at the More Latest Posts box which is considerably less convenient than the Latest Forum Posts box.

I suggest that the Latest Forum Posts box should be doubled in size.

Try More Latest Posts, however a latest posts since I was last looked would be very useful.

Why not just set your landing-page to be the forum ?

... I rarely even notice the 'Latest Forum Posts' box.

I was thinking exactly the same thing a few weeks ago. It is a minor inconvenience if there have been a lot of posts in one day. It would be good if the 'Latest Forum Posts' list was longer. But then I thought about the 'Support Our Partners' section just below it, and I concluded that it would be unfair to encroach upon that valuable space. I can live with it (it is what it is), but I see where you are coming from.

I don't want to be the rain cloud here but I think the current system is okay.. If it got any bigger, there would be no room for anything else.

Can't see the layout getting changed for the couple of times a year when a large number of members are stuck in the chair and posting away like mad as said "more latest posts" does the trick though it would be nice to have "new posts since last visit" which is very unlikely to happen any time soon.

The right hand column is already crowded - what would you get rid of to provide the extra room? Bear in mind the adverts are what pays for the forum, so they can't be chopped.

I set the 'latest posts' page as my landing page for the forum.

Hi Michael

I marked you down on this occasion because I did not understand it when you said 'set your landing page to be the forum'. You also said you rarely even notice the 'Latest Forum Posts' box, and I took that to mean your start page was somewhere else in the 'forum'. Neil got the award because he was much clearer (ok, and because I was sucking up to be in with the boss as it could come in handy one day). So, I'm afraid I have to mark you down on this one, with a 'could do better, must try harder' comment at the bottom of your paper.
