Stedall lathe

It's a bit dusty because it was sprayed with oil before storage

I'll tell you when it arrives, the guy i'm buying it from  reckons it weighs around the 200kg mark . Been getting some outrageous prices for delivery up here where I stay in the north of Scotland the lathe is in exeter in Devon 

Anyone on here know of any cheap companies who deal with pallet deliveries .

I'd imagine it wont be here until Thursday at the earliest . That'll give me time to sort where i'm going to put it ...

Don't know if i'm excited or apprehensive ...Lathe was bought of Gumtree but Charlie the guy i bought it off has been amazingly helpful ,especially for staying back after his working hours today waiting for the lathe to be picked up .

Well it arrived today ,i saw it through locked gates tonight on the way home ,the guy i bought it from must've spent a small fortune on bubble wrap....

Im surprised no-one mentioned what make of lathe you have there.

You appear to have a nice Fortis lathe there hopefully under all the dust and grime .

Probably Stedall acted as agents as most of their stuff ive seen are rebranded Lorchs.

The fortis is based on the Clausing lathe and they are pretty nice lathes. I almost bought a Fortis on ebay a couple of years ago but ended up with a Southbend.
