I have a dremel type mini grinder. I use it either to grind surfaces ,like cleaning up a casting or to clean up the egde of thin sheet. I just cut some 1.2 mm SS sheet.

Do you perfer the sanding drums or to use a stone? I find that the stones i use are very soft and wear away quickly. Does anyone have good results with the tiny milling cutters type?

Mike

You want the orange aluminium oxide grinding wheels. Forget the cheap ones get the proper dremel branded ones. They last about 4-5 times longer. I like the 952 cone shape best.

That's what I tend to use on castings, linisher is quicker on sheet material edges.

But I am cleaning up the inside edge of holes on sheet steel, Linisher will not work.

Not cheap but also very good is **LINK** , it is more difficult to control those tiny milling cutters by hand.

I prefer the emery drums for cleaning castings, with a diamond burr for tight corners

I suspect this is very much something that is personal preference and the type and size of casting you usually use.
