To suit remagnetising of old Hornby-Dublo motors

10 forum posts | Hello, Does anyone know where I may locate a design for either an impulse (capacitor) or electromagnetic magnetiser, that I can construct?
Thanks, Jim Crawford. |

10 forum posts | Thank you John, Ian and Lambton,
I will check out the design as in Model Engineer. Regarding neodymium replacement magnets, I have tried the block style as used in earlier H-D motors and found them satisfactory. My particular problem centres around the Hornby-Dublo solid ringfield magnet. I have found it difficult to get any information about re-magnetising this motor and I know of no supplier of replacement neodymium magnets to suit this style of motor. Thanks for your help. Jim.

10 forum posts | Martin, Thank you very much. I had not heard of this website previously. An enquiry email has been sent. I really thought I was going to have to construct a magnetiser of some sort, but these ringfield neo-magnets seem ideal.
With my very best wishes, Jim. Western Australia. |
