21 forum posts 2 photos | I've just found a Record 84 quick release vice in the workshop I'd forgotten I had. It's got 4½" jaws and is in good condition. I asked a mate the other day what the different model numbers m,ean on these vices and he didn't know, does anyone on the forum know? Cheers, Phil.

164 forum posts 1 photos | Hi Philip ,I have my Great Grandfathers Record vice from the 1890's.He was a black smith as was my Grandfather !t has 5 1/4" .jaws ,7" opening quick release and is a no 24 .I have used this for much of my life as my father had no interest in mechanical work. there is no rust just a black patina and in good condition for its age. I do not know what the numbers refer to but if there are enough answers to the question maybe it will become clear Here's hoping. Maurice . |
