Hi David,

I am having problems accessing the MEW digital editions. I am a subscriber to the magazine and also to the MEW Digital Archive. Up until now I have had no problems with access to the digital editions but tonight when I tried, I got as far as the pictures of the front covers (for both the current and archived stuff) but whenever I tried to select a magazine to open I received the following:

So, as I guess you are my supplier, over to you!!

Hello David,

I seem to be having the same problem as Hugh.
When I try to view either current or archive issues, the viewer loads with this message:

You are not authorised
to view this document.
undefined

Any ideas as to why this has suddenly happened?

Regards,
Jim

Hi Jim
I have just logged in as you (which is why you were disconected).
I can access both digital current issues and back numbers.
Obviously I have not checked the all.
Have you done anything different, changed or updated your browser?
regards David

Hello David,

Thank you for taking a look at the problem. Based on your browser suggestion, I had a look at 'Internet Options' and allowed Pop-Ups and Cookies to no avail, but if I disabled them and Mobile Code in my security suite, I now have access to all of the content.

This is strange as these were enabled before when everything used to work. However, I know what to do now, and must just remember to turn it all back on when I have finished.

As you can see, it's been keeping me awake!

Regards
Jim

Hi David,

Problem solved!! And it was entirely my fault, nowt to do with the website - the date on my computer was set to may instead of March. Heaven knows why but putting it back to the correct date has solved my problems with access to the digital editions. Now, if I actually receive my copy of Issue 162 in the post rather than having to read it online I will be a contented bunny.

Regards, Hugh

Hi David,

I'm experiencing the same problems as Hugh was. Using either Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, when the pop-up that usually has the digital magazine in it appears it simply has the text:

A licensing error does not
permit you to View this Document

Contact your supplier for more information

I get the same message for all the back issues and these have been working in the past.

Many thanks, Martin

Morning David,

Same problem here I am afraid.  Its worked fine last week, and I went to look at the back issues this morning, and up popped the same message as above.

Dave

Hi All,

My problems accessing the digital issues were because my computer was set to the wrong date after a service visit from Dell to fix a different problem. When I reset the date to the correct value access was OK again.

Hope this helps!!

Regards

Hugh

PS - Feeling smug as have just done my first ever parting off - Glanze carbide tool from Chronos, front tool post, had to set the tool height to centre very precisely but then everything worked fine.

David,
I have finally received my first two issues of the magazine ( #'s 160&161) but cannot log onto the digital archives.  I registered and used the number that Heather was kind enough to provide me, but the site still says it has no record of my subscripton.  Of course I no longer have the overwraps from the magazines with the account number on them and the E-mail receipt that I received from Express Mags has only 7 digits. I find the content excellent but need some prior issues to start the filing machine project.

Thanks for your help

I am a subscriber to both M.E. and M.E.W.
My subscriber numbers to both these are entered in my prifile.
The MEW subscription is giving me access to MEW digital archives but the ME subscription does not give me access to ME digital archives.

Why is this. Am I doing something wrong?

The saga continues -

What's gone wrong with the MEW digital archive? I was going to look at an early issue, but found that the archive only went back to issue 122.

I may be jumping the gun if this is due to the re-scanning of the earlier issues, but if this is not so, then why have I paid £29 for a year's access to the archive?

Regards,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Just a thought,  are you sure that you're looking in the correct place?  The free access 'Digital Issues' files only go back to issue 122, but these are not the same as the paid for subscription archives which include all MEW.

 Regards,

Terry

HI Jim
If you have paid, you should be able to access all issues.
Have you put your subscriber number into the digital editions bit of the website.
In your profile.
You can phone me if you like and we can try and sort it out.
regards David
