Hello John and Neil.

Neil: it's hard to track down a fault you can't see.
DC: Yes you are right. And a long time passed since I made the programm.

Haved you by any chance made some change on the data in the form "Cross issue by date (Maintenance)" or used the option "Import from an Excel file"?

Couldn't find, yet, the cause of the problem.
Meanwhile I've put in my site a EiM_Index ziped file with new data base file.

Please download it, try it, and let me know what happens.

Thanks in advance
Dias Costa

Hello Dias,

I haven't made any changes.

I overwrote the old files with the new ones, and got a different error:

indexes.jpg

Still working for ME and MEW. I'm on W8 by the way.

Good luck!

Neil

I've not looked at the MEW index from that site for quite a while but the last time I looked at it was using Open Office on a Mac so it's nothing to do with the operating system, or at least it wasn't! cheeky

Hi Vic,

Dias has made an SQL-based query application that interrogates the databases.

Hello John, Neil, Vic.

Thank you for your intereste in the application and help.

Neil, John:
can you, please, let me know if you installed all the files of the EiM_Indexes application in a directory/folder for itself alone before testing?

Thanks in adavance

Hello Dias,

I overwrote the old files so everything was in the one folder.

I just tried again with a new eim-only folder and got the same error.

Hello Neil, John, Others, good evening.

Now I found the cause of the problem ant it's corrected now. I hard coded an address in a disc as the place for a database file. Now that address it's dynamic.

Please try again and let me know the result.

Thanks in advance

Hello Dias,

I've just downloaded the E I M programme again, to my desktop rather than in the file with the other 2 mags. sadly the result is the same. Is there another link I can use? At the moment the link I have was forwarded to me by Neil. I'm afraid that Computer skills are not as good as they should be so perhaps I am doing something wrong somewhere without realising it.

Regards, John

Hello Neil, John, Vic, All

Finally the application EiM_Indexes is working as expected.
I am especially grateful to Mr Neil Wyatt with whom I exchanged correspondence and helped me find the cause of the error.
Anyone interested can find the MEW_Indexes, ME_INdexes EiM_Indexes applications and the usual address:

Best regards

Good Morning Dias & Neil,

Thank you both for your assistance in solving the problem with the indexes. Very pleased to say I have downloaded them all again and they all now work. It's now down to me to learn to use them to the best advantage, thanks again all.

John
