A necropost is a post on an "old, abandoned thread that has been considered 'dead' for a while...that no longer serves any purpose but is bumped back up to the top of the forums by someone posting in it." cheeky

So as you don't all suffer in suspense - no I didn't get a metal working lathe. I took up woodturning instead...

Welcome back to the fold Roger.

You know you are fed up with clearing up all that nasty sawdust... the dark side beckons!

SOD,Yes,I would be with you on this,20 years on,I am still happy enough with my "Chinese junk"

Problem is that buying secondhand means that you are buying some other guys problems,OK if you have time to solve them, and they come at the right price. Otherwise give them a miss, and get something that works of of the box,or crate. Life is too short to be messing around.

Stands to reason that any machine that has been around for half a lifetime, has been through the wars.

Do the sums !! Do you really want to be setting it up for someone else ?indecision
