Thanks to all who responded, some very useful information taken on board before making any more videos, some of the points I have always followed but some hadn't been considered.

Regarding subtitles, the ones on this video about repairing a hammer seem to have gone awry (although better than I could have done in their language).

Don't film the video with one hand while disassembling (say) the head of a mill with the other.

(Apart from anything else, it's already been done).

Keep it short and to the point, and edit down long operations.

Before you start make a list of the operations you want to highlight and points to make.

Above all, edit it (avoiding too may or fancy cuts). Good videos maintain a constant level of interest and activity.

Editing your own material is always difficult, so have somebody else watch the finished piece before you post it.
