5563 forum posts 322 photos | With regard to the sight glass, the later big more S7 does not have one of these but just a small oil cup you fill every day when the lathe is used, and seems to provide plenty of oil. This suggests that you could do some turning like making a new "glass" just squirting some oil into the hole fairly frequently What's the problem exactly with the link belt? . When I fitted mine I found that the pulleys are actually smaller than the belts supposedly supplied for the Myford. Check the size of the top of the vee and that the belt you have is the right size. It may be easier to get that right than take the spindle out.

However, I have been having problems with youtube recently not playing and giving an error message saying an error has occurred and please try again later. Can anyone shed some light on this and how to get round it? Would like to view the video! Chris |

Hi John, I've designed and 3D printed one, I've just got to bond a watch-glass in - I will be looking at the S7 as soon as I've put the mill back together Dave |

A while back I had the same problem with you tube, but clicking the 'reload page' icon on the browser usually worked. Eventually the problem just went away... Robin. ![]() 1545 forum posts 484 photos | ChrisH, Sorry, I can't help with your YouTube problem, but I've just tried my link again and it works OK for me. Robin's link is a different URL because it links to another, different video, describing his 626 mill, not specifically addressing the Z-axis screw. John

Dave - I'm in the East Midlands (Derbyshire, about 4 miles south of Matlock). If that's within striking distance, I'd be happy to help. Robin. A BIG thank you to Robin regarding this problem of mine. Not only did he provide a more than adequate lathe, he provided tea, biccies and toilet facilities over 2 days for me and my pal, Alan. An altogether fine fellow Just got to work out how to mill the pockets with the Mill in bits now Thanks all |
