1486 forum posts 105 photos | I made a new nut for Frank and he's now up and running again. The screw was in very reasonable condition so the new nut will last for many years. |

![]() 2110 forum posts 565 photos | That looks like a square thread not a Acme thread which has an angle on the flanks. I made a tap from silversteel hardened, a while ago for an M Type lathe cross slide lead screw and roughed out the nut with a single point square boring tool and finnished it with the tap. David
