![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Easiest way to se the number is to hold your mouse over the "send to a friend" tab at the bottom of a post, it will end in something like p=2099233 which is the post number as Michael Gilligan pointed out the link I posted yesterday but obviously not much point in being able to link back to posts and threads if people don't read them.. It is possible to link back to a post in teh same thread, this is the one with the link in it from yesterday. Should put that thread at the top of the page. No Moderators magic tricks used to get that link.
Sachll, if you use the Google search on the home page you will have more luck as the search at the top of each thread only looks for thread title.

I learn something new every day... Often, I discover that what I learnt yesterday isn't true. |

Circlip (who wrote that line) is making the very valid pont that on this site the numbering system is not really much use to anyone and very difficult to use if you wanted too. Other sites have a # 1, #2, #3, etc somewhere along the top which would put it in our green header and it is easy to refer to or link to a particular post number. As has been said previously it is unlikely to change any time soon. j
Can't remember when this site first opened but two points of forum problems were post numbering and underlap of adverts. Thank heavens for technological efficiency.
